If you plan to fly this holiday season, you probably want the cheapest tickets possible. Google Flights is about to help make that a reality. Starting Oct. 16, Google Flights is adding a new “Cheapest” tab to make it easier to locate budget-friendly airfare.

To check it out, go to www.google.com/travel/flights.

There, just enter your trip details and tapped the “Cheapest” tab.

By default, the platform will show you the “Best” tab first, followed by flights ranked by convenience and price.

To get the cheapest possible flights, pick alternate airports (airports close to, but not in, your destination) and run it again.

You can also use the new Google feature for international flights. You also have to book separate flights from different carriers — a process known as “self transfer.”

As you might guess, the cheapest tickets, domestic or international, may come with inconveniences, such as longer layovers or travel booked across a patchwork of carriers.

Google is rolling out the new feature globally over the course of two weeks. Try it out for your holiday travel and see if it saves you a little Christmas cash.
