Restaurant.com is celebrating Christmas in July this week by offering secret sales.

For today’s deal — which is available until 11:59 p.m. PT — $25 restaurant gift certificates are $4. Just use promo code XMAS.

Restaurant.com sells printable gift certificates for less than their face value, allowing you to enjoy a meal out without paying full menu prices. By using them, you can reduce your total bill by as much as 50 percent — or more during promotions like Christmas in July.

While this might sound too good to be true, the eateries that partner with Restaurant.com are willing to offer gift certificates at a discount as a way to help market themselves to a larger potential customer base.

The gift certificates also often have terms, which are clearly noted on Restaurant.com. For example, a participating restaurant may require you to purchase a certain amount of food to redeem a certificate.

To find out which eateries in your area offer discounts through Restaurant.com, visit the site and enter your ZIP code or city.

To take advantage of today’s deal, choose a gift certificate and click the green “Add To Cart” button. Then enter promo code XMAS in the “Enter Promo Code” box before you click the green “Proceed to Checkout” button.
