Ahoy, me hearties — and landlubbers, too. Sept. 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. So raise up the Jolly Roger, grab yer mateys and get ready to put this ‘ere free grub in yer gullet.
- Krispy Kreme: Talk like a pirate and feast on a free glazed doughnut Monday. Dress like a pirate, and you will be rewarded with a free dozen glazed doughnuts. If you don’t have a costume worthy of Captain Jack Sparrow, use a custom Snapchat pirate filter from Krispy Kreme to digitally dress yourself in pirate garb so you can score the doughnut booty.
- Long John Silver’s: Speak like a pirate on Monday, and you’ll get a free piece of Alaskan whitefish or chicken. Dress like a pirate, and you can score a free two-piece fish or chicken basket. You will need to wear at least three pirate items. For example, an eye patch, pirate hat and gold-hoop earring will do.
