Amazon is one of the most popular places to shop, and it’s perfect for finding something in any category without having to leave your home.

It’s a one-stop shop for pretty much everything you could ever want, but prices are all over the place. Wondering how to save money shopping on Amazon? We can help.

The interesting thing about the site is that it’s possible to find freebies that can significantly cut down on your spending and make sure your budget stays sound.

Where can you find them? We’ve collected a list of popular freebies.

Free stuff awaits! Log on to Amazon and look for these awesome freebies available through the online retailer.

1. Amazon Prime Free Trial

To access many of the deals on Amazon, you’re going to need to sign up for Amazon Prime. You can get a free trial for 30 days. Then, you can opt to pay monthly at $14.99 or pay annually.

If you’re a student or on government assistance, you can save 50% on your subscription.

2. Free Music

Amazon Music Unlimited is free for 30 days, giving you access to over 100 million songs. With this ad-free music streaming service, you have access to uninterrupted music.

This freebie only applies to new subscribers and is $9.99 or more monthly after the trial period expires.

If you already have Amazon Prime, you can access Amazon Music Prime for free.

3. Kindle Unlimited

Have you been overspending because you’re reading so many different books or magazines every month? You can start getting those items for free through Kindle Unlimited.

As a Prime member, a 30-day trial is free and renews at $11.99 afterward. Or, you can get a two-month deal for $4.99 for two months and $11.99 after that (a slightly better savings).

Sign into your account and visit the Kindle Unlimited page to learn more.

4. Free Shipping

One of the significant perks of using Amazon is that you can get free shipping, usually one- or two-day shipping, with your membership.

Shipping costs really add up, so being able to order items knowing that you won’t have to pay for next-day or two-day shipping takes all the stress off your shoulders (and your budget).

Note: Even if you’re not a member of Amazon Prime, you can get free shipping when you spend $35 or more.

5. Free Items Using Points

If you already make purchases on Amazon regularly, you can get the Amazon Visa Card (or use one of several other credit options and rewards programs) to get cash back with every purchase and other helpful savings.

With the card, you can get 5% back at Amazon.com or Whole Foods Market, 5% back on Chase Travel purchases, and money back on restaurant and gas station purchases, local commutes and rideshares, and so much more.

Those rewards add up — and you can use the rewards balance to pay for the items you want for free on Amazon.

6. Free Photo Storage

With your Prime membership, you get unlimited, full-resolution photo storage.

You’ll also get access to 5 gigabytes of video storage, so you can keep all your precious memories in your easily accessible account.

Even better, since your photos are on Prime, you’ll just have to click to order prints (with free shipping, of course!)

7. Free Audible Trial

Avid fans of audiobooks will love that they can access Audible for free for 30 days. That’s long enough to listen to a few new books before deciding if you want to renew for $14.95 a month.

And, Amazon is currently offering four months at $5.95 per month through Feb. 21, 2024.

8. Grubhub+

For one year, Amazon Prime members can get Grubhub+ for completely free.

On top of getting food delivery on the cheap, you’ll also have free delivery, 5% Grubhub+ credit back on all pickup orders, and other offers.

Keep in mind that you will be charged for the renewal at a rate of $9.99 a month, so cancel or switch to manual renewal to avoid the fee in the future.

9. Free Games With Luna

Amazon Prime comes with free PC games through Luna, where you’ll find in-game content and more when you sign up.

And, if you’re keen on watching Twitch? You get a free Twitch channel subscription per month.

Games included with Prime include Encodya, Fortnite, Ride4, and others — for active gamers, it’s a paradise of free content.

10. Amazon Try Before You Buy Program

If you don’t want to drop money on a new outfit before you know it’s exactly what you’re looking for, you can save by using the Prime Try Before You Buy program.

Amazon sends clothing right to your door, and you can decide what you’re going to keep before you pay for it.

Forget wrestling with returning items and getting refunds — Amazon keeps the process streamlined.

11. Free Self-Publishing Platform

Do you have a dream of becoming a writer? You can create and publish your own book for free through Kindle Direct Publishing.

You don’t pay anything unless your book sells, and even then, you’ll get your cut without seeing what Amazon takes out.

So, that’s a win-win if you’re looking for a profitable side hustle (earn up to 70% in royalties) and also want to get your book out there without paying for publishing.

Each of these 11 freebies can help you save a significant amount of money each month, whether you’re a bookworm or are interested in trying the latest games.

Most of these freebies require the Prime membership, but at a max of $139 a year, you’re set up to save more than you spend on the subscription.
