If you’re stuck on whether or not to splurge on new household items — whether it be a TV, computer or a luxurious new fridge — warranty policies may sway your decision.

The following products from Costco are eligible for years of warranty protection. These warranties cover repairs, replacements or refunds up to the purchase price for qualifying items. And depending on your membership tier, you can get up to $1,000 in rewards from these purchases.

If you’re unsure whether your purchases are covered, visit the Costco warranty calculator.

Major appliances

Certain large appliances from Costco can come with up to a two-year warranty.

Major appliances generally covered by the warranty include:

  • Refrigerators above 10 cu. ft.
  • Freezers
  • Ranges
  • Cooktops
  • Over-the-range microwaves
  • Dishwashers
  • Water heaters
  • Washers and dryers

Some of Costco’s major appliances are also eligible for up to 4% back in rewards based on the selling price and your status with Costco. Rewards are given to Executive Members and those with a Costco Anywhere Visa Card.

Regardless of your membership status, however, major appliances bought online come with free delivery and installation. In certain areas those purchases also come with a “Haul Away” service to remove your old appliances.

Computers

Members who purchase a computer from Costco will receive a two-year warranty. Touchscreen tablets, however, are excluded from this offer. And as with major appliances, certain Costco members are eligible for up to 4% back in rewards.

Costco members who don’t feel like that two-year warranty is enough can get an extended warranty through Allstate. Through Allstate’s Protection Plans, members receive “3 total years of protection.”

Computers are also eligible for a free, one-year subscription to McAfee for online protection, but that offer excludes Apple Computers and Chromebooks.

Computer purchases come with tech support at no extra charge and have a 90-day return policy.

Televisions

Costco’s televisions are eligible for up to a five-year warranty, and certain members can get up to 4% back in rewards based on the item’s selling price. Like computers, some televisions are eligible for extended warranties through the Allstate Protection Plan.

TVs come with complimentary tech support and ordering a TV from Costco online means you’ll also get free shipping. If you’d like, you can even elect to have Room of Choice Delivery. Costco’s deliverers will carry your new TV into a room of your choosing, but this service is only available for 55-inch TVs and bigger.

Tires

Costco puts several protections in place for its members when purchasing tires.

First, tire prices include any shipping and handling fees, so you don’t have to guess what you’ll be paying before checkout.

Every tire is protected with the Road Hazard Warranty for five years. The warranty does come with conditions that primarily revolve around proper tire and car care.

Costco’s Installation Package comes with Lifetime Maintenance Services for the duration of the tires’ lives. Those services include tire balancing, inflation pressure checks, flat tire repairs and tire rotations.

Mattresses

Mattresses from Costco come with a 10-year warranty. They carry more than a dozen brands including the Kirkland Signature house brand and large retailers like Tempur-Pedic, Casper and Purple. Costco can be a one-stop shop for your new bed since they also sell bed frames and bedding, although those aren’t covered by warranty.
