Costco members love the big savings they find on bulk purchases and other items. But those who are truly in the know understand that buying gift cards is one of the best bargains at the warehouse club.

Many gift cards are available at a discount to Costco members. While shrewd shoppers usually are aware that you can buy discounted restaurant gift cards at Costco, other types of discounted cards can be easy to overlook.

Here are some of the lesser-known gift card savings that Costco offers.

If you plan to travel in the near future, Costco can save you cash through discounted gift cards for a couple of airlines.

You can get a $500 Southwest Airlines e-gift card for just $450. A discount on an Alaska Airlines e-gift certificate also is available.

Fans of select sports teams can get special deals at Costco. For example, you can get two upper-level tickets to an NFL Atlanta Falcons football game plus a $20 food and beverage credit for $100.

Many other sports-related packages are available right now, especially for college football games.

You can also get four $25 e-gift cards to Alamo Drafthouse Cinema for $75 and four $25 e-gift cards to Fandango for $80.
