We all grumble about having to pay for utilities, but these services offer a level of convenience that makes our lives much more pleasant.

That is especially true of water utilities, which provide us with access to a resource that is fundamental to life.

Recently, J.D. Power surveyed over 33,000 residential customers across the U.S. to measure their satisfaction with their water utility.

This year’s study examined eight core dimensions to measure satisfaction:

  • Information provided
  • Quality and reliability
  • Level of trust
  • Ease of doing business
  • Total monthly cost
  • People
  • Resolving problems or complaints
  • Digital channels

J.D. Power looked at 91 midsize and large water utilities. The following are the providers that got the highest rankings by region of the U.S.
