It wasn’t too long ago many of us were happy to see a car make it 100,000 miles. But technology marches ever forward — with prices to match, of course.
Automotive website iSeeCars’ latest annual study of the longest-lasting vehicles looked at models most likely to last a quarter-million miles.
It’s by no means a guarantee — the report says they have a 20% to 50% chance of lasting that long — and that doubtless requires you to stay on top of maintenance. But these look to be the best cars to drive up until the wheels fall off.
In total, iSeeCars looked at more than 260 million vehicles sold between 2012 and 2022 for its rankings, which included cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans. “The average odometer reading for each vehicle was calculated at each yearly age, and a proprietary model based on these average mileages was developed to estimate the probability that each vehicle would survive to various mileage thresholds,” the site says.
Following are the vehicles most likely to last 250,000 miles.
