Social Security reserves are being depleted, and retirement feels out of reach for so many Americans. Good thing Taco Bell has our backs.
Well, only for a weekend.
And only if you managed to get the now-sold-out tickets.
The franchise is opening “The Cantinas” in San Diego from Aug. 17 to Aug. 18, 2024. It’s billed as an early retirement community “where everyone can live like a retiree.”
The Cantinas will have “senior-inspired” activities that Taco Bell says include golf, pickleball, aerobics, painting classes, knitting circles and old-school games.
Of course, there will also be plenty of Taco Bell menu favorites.
It’s an opportunity for people to “Live their Más,” as U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery says in a press release.
Attendees must be age 21 or older.
There were two ticket options for attendees to choose from. First, the Weekend Membership, which was $150 and includes shared overnight accommodations for both the ticket holder and a guest. This includes access to amenities, recreation, dining and entertainment.
There was also the Day Pass for $50, which includes access for the ticket holder and a guest to the grounds, recreation, dining and more.
Tickets were made available on the Taco Bell app and only to Taco Bell Rewards members on July 16. They sold out in a day, with some online fans saying they refreshed the app after release time and found that tickets were immediately sold out.
Oh, well. Maybe one day the rest of us can live our más too.
