Americans love frozen pizza. Nearly three-quarters of U.S. households buy store-bought pizza, according to a 2022 Mintel survey.
However, finding the right frozen pizza can be a challenge. If you are unsure which pie you should purchase, Consumer Reports has a few suggestions.
The publication recently chose what it deemed to be the best frozen pizzas in three categories.
All the tested pies were cheese pizzas “for simplicity’s sake,” according to CR.
The top products were:
- Editor’s choice: Red Baron Classic Crust Four Cheese Pizza
- Best-tasting crust: Amy’s Cheese Pizza
- For the cheese lover: Screamin’ Sicilian Bessie’s Revenge Cheese Pizza
In describing why the Red Baron Classic Crust Four Cheese Pizza earned the editor’s choice award, CR says:
“Red Baron is the crowd pleaser, with a balance of flavors and textures that are just right. You get the distinct taste of crust, sauce, and cheese in each bite.”
Meanwhile, Amy’s Cheese Pizza has crust that “browns nicely and is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.”
Finally, the Screamin’ Sicilian Bessie’s Revenge Cheese Pizza “promises a ridiculous amount of cheese, and does not disappoint.”
