Go to the Movies for Free on Aug. 20

Round up your family and friends and head to the nearest Cinemark theater on Aug. 20 for a free movie and great deals on popcorn and movie snacks.

Cinemark is launching its inaugural Community Day on Saturday by offering free showings of family friendly movies and discounted concessions.

Here are the details of this free movie celebration:

  • Free DreamWorks Animation movies from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Check your local theater for a selection of movies and showtimes. The free tickets can be picked up at the theater box office, which opens at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 20.
  • Discounted treats for $2 each: small popcorn, 16-ounce soft drinks or all packaged candy varieties,

According to a Cinemark press release, proceeds from the one-day event will benefit WE.org, an organization that “brings people together and gives them the tools to change the world, locally and globally.”
