Capital One is sweetening the deal for new cardholders of the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card.
Previously, this card had an early spending bonus offer of 50,000 miles when you spend $3,000 within the first three months — a decent, but not unheard-of deal worth at least $500 in travel.
That introductory offer is still on the table. But now, there’s something even better, and the bonuses stack.
How to earn 100,000 bonus miles
For a limited time, you can also earn another 50,000 bonus miles on your Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card over a longer time frame.

If you spend an additional $17,000 (for a total of $20,000) within the first year from opening the account, you’ll end up with a total of 100,000 bonus miles.
Even better, the bonuses can be earned independently. If you miss the mark on $3,000 in three months, you can still pick up the 50,000 bonus miles for spending $20,000 within 12 months.
These miles don’t expire so long as your account is active, so there’s no pressure to use them. And with a full year to earn this bonus, there’s little pressure to spend money you weren’t already going to.
Those 100,000 miles are worth at least $1,000 in travel, and you may be able to transfer points to loyalty programs to stretch them even further.
In addition to redeeming rewards for travel, you can currently redeem them for Amazon.com purchases, eligible food delivery and takeout, music and video streaming services, and wireless phone service.
Other features of the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card
Aside from the excellent introductory offer, here are some other reasons this card may be worth picking up:
- Earn 2 miles per dollar on every purchase.
- Earn 5 miles per dollar on Uber Eats purchases through Jan. 31, 2021.
- Get a $100 credit on Global Entry or TSA Precheck for quicker airline boarding.
- Extended warranty protection
- Travel accident insurance
- No foreign transaction fee
Note that you don’t get all this for free: The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card does have a $95 annual fee.
If you want to avoid annual fees, you might be interested in the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card, which doesn’t have one. However, you’ll only earn 1.25 miles per dollar spent, and this card doesn’t have the same early spending bonus offers.
