Your golden years are here, and you’ve earned them! This is your time to live however and wherever you want. The world is your oyster, and many hotels are ready to accommodate any adventure you take — whether you are traveling soon or planning a trip for after the coronavirus pandemic subsides further.

You would be surprised which big-name hotel chains offer discounts to senior travelers. In fact, we have identified well over 70 — and that’s not even counting hotel brands that offer discounts only to members of organizations like AARP.

When you check into any of the following hotels, you’ll check out with more of that hard-earned money in your pocket. In some cases, you’ll save 15% or more on a room.

Best Western Hotels & Resorts

Guests 55 and older save up to 15% on room rates at Best Western.

Castle Resorts & Hotels

Book your Hawaiian vacation at Castle Resorts & Hotels and get up to 25% off their best available rates. This special savings is only available to guests 55 and older.

Choice Hotels (multiple brands)

Starting at age 60, anyone can save up to 10% at Choice Hotels when you make advance reservations.

Choice Hotels includes 12 brands including Quality Inn and Econo Lodge.

Extended Stay America

If you’re 55 or older, enjoy a special discounted rate at Extended Stay America hotels.

InterContinental Hotels Group (multiple brands)

Participating IHG brands offer senior rates to guests who are at least 62, although the exact discount depends on the property. For instance, The Hotel Wilshire in Los Angeles offers senior guests up to 30% savings along with a reduced guest amenity fee and an evening social hour.

IHG owns 16 hotel and resort brands, including Holiday Inn, Candlewood Suites and Crowne Plaza.

Marriott (multiple brands)

The Marriott Senior Discount Program is available to guests over age 62. They do require proof of age at check-in and limit the special rate to two rooms per night per eligible guest.

Marriott has more than two dozen brands, which include Sheraton, Courtyard Hotels, Fairfield Inn & Suites and Westin.

Motel 6

Once you turn 60, you get 8% off the best available room rate at Motel 6.

Omni Hotels & Resorts

After celebrating your 55th birthday, you’re eligible for a special senior rate at participating Omni Hotels & Resorts. Book a prepaid, non-refundable senior rate, and you’ll save even more.

Red Roof

If you’re at least 59, you get 10% off a room at Red Roof.

Wyndham Hotel Group (multiple brands)

Turning 60 comes with special perks, including special savings on the best available rate at participating Wyndham locations.

Wyndham Hotel Group has 21 hotel brands, which include Days Inn, Ramada and Travelodge.

AARP member discounts

In today’s world, 50 is the new 60! That’s when you’re officially eligible to sign up for a full AARP membership and enjoy all of its benefits. (You can join before age 50, but not all member benefits will be available to you.)

Want to see if that AARP membership is worth the annual fee? Check out their current discounts, which include dozens of hotel brands. Many of these hotels have their own special senior savings — they include most of the chains listed above — but an AARP membership grants you access to senior savings at a younger age.

AMAC member discounts

Similar to AARP, the Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC) is a membership-based organization focused on advocating for people age 50 and older.

Membership benefits include exclusive discounts on travel needs, including discounts at select hotels and motels. AMAC’s current hotel partners include Motel 6, Red Roof and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
