You’ve made it to your golden years! And after several decades of punching the clock, you’re ready to enjoy life on your schedule and at your own pace.
You’ve closed the book on business meetings, the kids are grown, and now is the perfect time for a grand adventure. Grab your bucket list, because many hotel chains offer discounts to savvy seniors who are making the most of the next phase of life.
Following are some hotels and motels that offer discounts to seniors.
1. Best Western Hotels & Resorts
If you are 55 or older, you can save up to 15% on a room at Best Western Hotels & Resorts.
2. Choice Hotels
If you are 60 or older, you can save up to 10% at Choice Hotels when you make a reservation in advance. Choice Hotels brands include about a dozen chains — such as Clarion, Sleep Inn and EconoLodge.
Note that you can get this price break — among others on this list — even before you turn 60 if you join AARP. And you can do that starting at age 50.
3. Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts
If you are at least 62 and are a member of a retired persons organization, you can enjoy a discounted room rate at Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts.
A similar discount is also available at other chains that are part of the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), such as Candlewood Suites.
Are you a fan of the Marriott? If you are 62 or older, you can snag at least a 15% discount on a room rate at Marriott brand hotels worldwide.
5. Motel 6
Motel 6 offers up to a 10% discount to anyone who is 60 or older.
As with all of these deals, make sure you read the terms and conditions before booking.
6. Omni Hotels & Resorts
Blow out the candles on your 55th birthday cake, and you’ll be eligible for a senior discount at Omni Hotels & Resorts.
7. Red Roof Inns
If you’re age 59 or older, you qualify for a 10% discount at Red Roof Inns.
