Summer is right around the corner, bringing warmer weather and new freebies.
From doughnuts to fishing, we’ve rounded up some of June’s hottest offers. We hope these can’t-miss deals help you turn your summer season into savings season.
Doughnuts — June 7
June 7 is National Donut Day. The delicious holiday’s roots date back to 1917, when Salvation Army volunteers called “Donut Lassies” made the tasty treats for soldiers on the front lines during World War I.
Duck Donuts, for one, is offering every guest a free cinnamon sugar doughnut that day, no purchase necessary. Paris Baguette is offering a free sugar mochi or small twisted doughnut with a purchase.
Dunkin and other chains previously offered freebies on National Donut Day as well but haven’t made announcements for 2025 as of publishing. So, be on the lookout.
Sliders — June 27-29
In honor of National Onion Day, White Castle is offering two free sliders with the purchase of two sliders from June 27 to June 29.
In addition, if you’re a Craver Nation Rewards member via the White Castle app, you can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free offer on combo meals from June 13 to June 15, which is Fathers Day weekend.
Groceries — ongoing
From little free food pantries to gleaning, there are various ways to get legitimate food for free, believe it or not. We recently detailed the best of these options in “5 Ways to Get Groceries for Free — No Matter Who You Are.”
Fishing — dates vary by state
Attention aspiring anglers: Want to try your hand at fishing without having to pay for a license? You may soon be in luck.
Dozens of states offer free fishing days — or even full weekends — in June. The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation has rounded up all the dates.
Advanced AI for college students — until June 30
Google is giving college students a free subscription to its Gemini Advanced artificial intelligence (AI) model — a savings of $19.99 a month. Students must sign up for this freebie by June 30, 2025, but will retain free access to Gemini Advanced through the 2026 final exam season.
Gemini Advanced is Google’s premium AI model. A subscription also includes 2 terabytes of Google One storage, which can be used across multiple Google products, including Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos.

Audiobooks — ongoing
Listening to audiobooks can be a wonderful alternative to traditional reading, especially if your current situation doesn’t easily lend itself to flipping through pages — such as when you’re driving to work.
So, sign up for a 30-day Audible trial, and try the service. It offers access to thousands of audiobooks and podcasts.
If you like Audible, you can maintain your subscription for $14.95 a month.
