When in doubt about what gift to give this holiday season, consider a Target gift card.
They are the best gift card option overall this year, according to a recent analysis by WalletHub.
The financial data site reports that while gift cards were the most popular type of present in 2015 for the ninth consecutive year, not all gift cards are created equally.
WalletHub found that some come with shipping fees when purchased online as physical gift cards, for example. Others have lower resale values or lower buyer discounts on gift card marketplaces like Raise.com and Cardpool.com, where recipients can sell unwanted cards and thrifty shoppers can buy them at a discount.
The other factors that WalletHub’s analysis considered are customers’ experiences at a retailer, based on user ratings from popular review sites, and the popularity of a retailer’s gift card, based on the number of people who search for it online.
