9 Chains Offering Free or Cheap Eats for Halloween

No matter how you plan to spend Halloween, there is likely free or discounted food in it for you.

The following nine restaurant chains and sweets shops are among those offering specials for everything from entrees and desserts to cocktails and hot sauce on Wednesday.

A costume isn’t necessary in most cases. Just be sure to call ahead to your nearest locations to confirm they are participating in these offers.

1. Applebee’s

A $1 cocktail called the Dollar Zombie is available at Applebee’s restaurants now through Wednesday.

“It’s a mixture of rum, pineapple, passion fruit, cherry, lime and is garnished with a Vidal gummi brain,” Applebee’s says of its new Neighborhood Drink of the Month.

The restaurant chain has close to 2,000 locations.

2. Baskin-Robbins

Get any regular- or kids-sized scoop of ice cream for $1.50 on Wednesday as part of the chain’s Celebrate 31 promotion, which falls on the last day of any month with 31 days.

Baskin-Robbins has more than 8,000 locations.

3. Cheesecake Factory

If you spend $30 on a delivery order through DoorDash, you’ll get a free slice of cheesecake — either Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake Cheesecake or Hershey’s Chocolate Bar Cheesecake.

Not all Cheesecake Factory locations offer DoorDash delivery, according to the restaurant chain’s website. To find out if it’s available at a location in your area, enter your ZIP code on the chain’s DoorDash delivery webpage.

4. Chipotle Mexican Grill

If you wear a costume to Chipotle on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to close, you can get an entree for $4. Choose from a burrito, bowl, salad or order of tacos.

Chipotle has more than 2,450 locations.

5. Freebirds World Burrito

Buy a Monster-sized or larger burrito on Wednesday or Thursday, and you’ll get a free bottle of Death Sauce, Freebirds tells Money Talks News.

The chain describes the sauce as “made with whole habaneros and arbol chiles blended with just a touch of sugar and cumin to create a nice, sweet heat.”

Freebirds World Burrito has 75 locations across five states:

• Oklahoma
• Tennessee
• Texas
• Utah

6. Krispy Kreme

If you wear a costume to a participating location Wednesday, you will get a free doughnut of your choice.

Krispy Kreme has close to 1,400 locations.

For the kids

If you’re heading out to eat with the kids or grandkids, here are three more restaurants with deals for you to check out. These treats entail free food for the little ones.

1. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.: Free kids meal with the purchase of an adult entree on Wednesday.
2. IHOP: Free create-your-own Scary Face Pancake for kids between 7 and 10 p.m. Wednesday.
3. Joe’s Crab Shack: Free kids meal with the purchase of an adult entree when dining in on Wednesday.
