This Might Be the Most Valuable Costco Member Perk You Aren’t Using

Costco is among the most beloved retailers in America. Shoppers share a legendary loyalty to the warehouse club giant.

Members typically can recite a long list of Costco deals that they love. But there is likely one big perk many of them overlook: The savings tied to the Costco Auto Program.

By taking advantage of this program, you can save 15% on parts, service and accessories at a participating service center. The maximum you can save per visit to one of these service centers is $500.

For example, you can save on the following:

• Belts and hoses
• Air filter
• Windshield wipers
• Keys and fobs
• Touch-up paint
• Engine and drive train

Service

• Wheel alignment
• 30,000/60,000/90,000 mile maintenance
• Brakes and rotors
• Shocks and struts

• All-weather floor mats
• Mug guards
• Roof racks
• Running boards
• Tonneau covers
• Cargo management

Costco notes that savings also apply to other items that do not appear on the above lists.

To take advantage of these deals, you will not go to Costco. Instead, you will take your vehicle to a service center that participates in the Costco program. Costco says it selects service centers “based on strict criteria, including a history of excellent customer service.”

To find a participating service center, you’ll need to complete an online form on the Costco Auto Program website. It asks for your contact information and membership number. The website will then show you nearby service centers. You can either visit the service center or call and schedule an appointment in advance. Once you arrive at the center, show your authorization number and Costco membership card to collect your discounts.

In addition to the discounts on repairs, you can use the Costco Auto Program when you purchase or lease a vehicle. Costco tries to simplify the car-buying process for members, who also get access to member pricing.
