FCA US LLC is recalling over 20,000 vehicles due to a faulty instrument display panel that fails to show gear selection, warning lights and other critical safety information, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects approximately 11,743 model-year 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S vehicles and 8,528 model-year 2024-2025 Dodge Charger EVs, according to an April 23 notice published on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website.

On April 1, the automaker became aware of a vehicle build issue affecting instrument panel clusters on certain models — the central, dashboard-mounted hubs located behind the steering wheel. FCA US says the issue may be caused by a “software error,” and that the affected vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

What Vehicles Are Being Recalled?

A total of 20,271 vehicles are affected by the recall. The impacted models are:

  • 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S
  • 2024-2025 Dodge Charger EV

What to Do if You Have a Recalled Vehicle

Customers need to contact their nearest dealer to update the instrument panel software, according to the notice.

Notification letters are expected to be mailed to owners on May 21. Owners can also contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The recall reference number is 39D.

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning April 30. Owners can check whether their vehicle is affected by entering their VIN at NHTSA.gov.
