Can’t think of what to get Mom this Mother’s Day? Give her an Amazon gift card — and you could save $5 in the process.

Right now, Prime members can get a $5 Amazon credit when they purchase at least $50 in Amazon electronic gift cards from the online retailer.

The purchase must be made in a single transaction. Once you buy your gift cards, you will receive an email confirmation, and a $5 credit will be added to your account to use on your next purchase.

The offer is scheduled to run through Mother’s Day itself, which is May 14. However, Amazon notes that it might expire earlier if “supplies have been exhausted.”

Also, as with most of these promotions, the credit can only be used “towards the purchase of eligible products listed on and sold by Amazon.com.” That would exclude items you purchase from third-party sellers on Amazon.

To make sure your purchase is eligible, look for the words “sold by Amazon.com” or “sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC” on the product page before you place your order.

Finally, you must use the $5 credit by June 29, or it will be forfeited.

When you spend the credit, make sure to avoid “9 Mistakes Everyone Makes When Shopping on Amazon.”
