Happy National Bagel Day. While this “holiday” might be a fake, real freebies are being given away today in the bagel’s honor.

Einstein Bros. Bagels is offering a free bagel and shmear (the chain’s lingo for cream cheese) with any purchase today with this coupon, which can be printed or displayed on a mobile device. One bagel will also be donated to a charity.

Note that the fine print says “one coupon per customer.” The fine print also says the offer is valid only at participating locations, so call ahead to your local store to confirm it accepts the coupon. The offer is not valid at locations in hospitals, airports, hotels, colleges or military bases.

Einstein has locations in 40 states and the District of Columbia.

The Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co. is offering a free Egg and Cheese Bagel Pocket with the purchase of any Bagel Pocket today.

Bagel Pockets are Brooklyn Water Bagel’s newest menu item and will be unveiled today in honor of the “holiday.”
