HBO is inviting you to watch its content for free. The entertainment network says folks who download the HBO Max app can watch select episodes of popular programming at no cost before they sign up for the streaming service.

The offer is being framed as a “sneak peek” at some of HBO’s most beloved programming, including 13 episodes of HBO and HBO Max Originals.

Over time, new titles will be introduced to replace those original 13 choices.

The promotion, which launched Aug. 3, kicked off with the pilot episodes of the following programs:

  • Batwoman
  • Euphoria
  • Game of Thrones
  • Harley Quinn
  • Lovecraft Country
  • Love Life
  • Perry Mason
  • Raised by Wolves
  • The Flight Attendant
  • Titans
  • Veneno
  • Warrior
  • Doom Patrol (season 2, episode 1)

Note that you must download the HBO Max app or visit play.hbomax.com to take advantage of this freebie. The app is available through the following app stores:

  • Amazon Appstore
  • Apple App Store
  • Google Play
  • Roku Channel Store
  • Samsung TV

If the free samples whet your appetite for a full-blown subscription, you can sign up for HBO Max either ad-free ($14.99 a month) or with ads ($9.99 a month). Yearly rates ($149.99 and $99.99, respectively) also are available, offering savings of around 16% to those willing to prepay.
