How to Get 12 Hallmark Greeting Cards for Free This Summer

A dollar store is the best place to buy greeting cards, generally. You can’t beat prices like $1 and even 50 cents — unless you live near a Hallmark Gold Crown store.

Those stores are giving cards away this summer — a promotion called Free Card Friday.

Free Card Friday

On every Friday from now to Sept. 27, you can pick up one card from Hallmark’s Just Because line for free.

That means you can snag as many as 12 brand-name greeting cards for free — “Yep, free means free!” Hallmark says.

Normally, the Just Because cards cost $1.99 or $2.99 apiece — meaning you could save up to $35.88 if you take advantage of Free Card Friday on every remaining Friday during the promotion.

The dates of those Fridays are:

  1. July 12
  2. July 19
  3. July 26
  4. Aug. 2
  5. Aug. 9
  6. Aug. 16
  7. Aug. 23
  8. Aug. 30
  9. Sept. 6
  10. Sept. 13
  11. Sept. 20
  12. Sept. 27

The only hitch to Free Card Friday is that you must be a member of Hallmark’s loyalty program, Crown Rewards, to take advantage of the offer. But joining Crown Rewards is free, and you can join online.

Also, note that the Free Card Friday freebies are available only in stores and “while supplies last,” according to the offer details.

Hallmark Crown Rewards

As a Crown Rewards members, you earn 10 points for every dollar you spend at Gold Crown stores and on Hallmark’s website. Plus, you get opportunities to rack up bonus points. Points are converted into Reward Dollars, which you can spend like cash.

Hallmark is also currently offering a coupon for $5 off a $10 purchase to folks who sign up for Crown Rewards.

Hallmark also offers exclusive deals — like Free Card Friday — to Crown Rewards members. You can scope out the current member-only deals on the Crown Rewards offers page.
