You might think billionaire presidents invest in exotic assets beyond your reach, but Donald Trump’s portfolio tells a different story. According to his latest financial disclosures reported by U.S. News & World Report, the president owns stakes in eight publicly traded companies that any investor can buy today.

What’s striking about Trump’s holdings? They’re mostly concentrated in familiar tech giants and blue-chip stocks that have powered the market’s gains in recent years.

While his largest position remains his majority stake in Trump Media & Technology Group, worth approximately $2.3 billion, his other investments read like a who’s who of America’s most successful companies.

For everyday investors, Trump’s portfolio offers a fascinating glimpse into how even the wealthiest Americans often stick to well-known, established companies rather than chasing risky ventures. Here’s what the president owns, according to an analysis of his financial filings by U.S. News & World Report.

Trump Media & Technology Group takes the top spot

By far Trump’s largest holding, his 53% stake in Trump Media is worth about $2.3 billion at current prices. The company owns Truth Social, the social media platform Trump launched in 2022 after being banned from mainstream platforms.

While Trump filed paperwork in April 2025 that would allow him to sell his stake, he has stated he has no plans to do so, reports U.S. News & World Report.

For average investors, DJT represents a more speculative play compared to his other holdings, with the stock’s performance closely tied to Trump’s political fortunes and Truth Social’s user growth.

Tech giants dominate his portfolio

Trump’s remaining investments concentrate heavily in technology leaders that have defined the modern economy.

Nvidia Corp. (NVDA) rounds out Trump’s big tech bets with at least $500,000 invested. The chipmaker has been one of the market’s top performers over the past 15 years, riding the artificial intelligence boom to spectacular gains. According to U.S. News & World Report, Nvidia ranked as the best-performing S&P 500 stock in 2023 and second-best in 2024.

Apple Inc. (AAPL) represents a major position worth more than $500,000. This holding could get interesting, as Trump said Apple may face a 25% tariff on iPhones made outside the U.S., which could impact profits and prices. Still, the iPhone maker’s ecosystem of devices and services continues to generate massive cash flows.

Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) commands another stake worth more than $500,000. The software giant’s dominance spans Windows, Office, and its rapidly growing Azure cloud services division. Interestingly, the Federal Trade Commission recently dropped its lawsuit challenging Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, a case that began under the previous administration.

E-commerce and search round out the holdings

Alphabet Inc. (GOOG, GOOGL) represents a combined value exceeding $250,000 across both share classes. The Google parent faces ongoing antitrust challenges, with the Department of Justice pushing for the company to divest its Chrome browser and stop paying for prime search placement. Despite regulatory pressure, Alphabet’s search and advertising dominance continues to drive strong financial results.

Trump holds more than $250,000 in Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) stock, marking an apparent thaw in his relationship with founder Jeff Bezos. The president recently praised Bezos for changes at the Washington Post, and Amazon reportedly shelved plans to display tariff-related charges on certain marketplace goods after a call between the two.

Two surprising picks complete the list

Broadcom Inc. (AVGO) rounds out the portfolio with more than $100,000 invested, despite Trump blocking the company’s attempted acquisition of Qualcomm in 2018 over national security concerns. That decision hasn’t hurt Broadcom shareholders. The stock has delivered total returns exceeding 1,120% since early 2018, compared to about 155% for the S&P 500, per U.S. News & World Report.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B) makes Trump’s list with a position worth more than $100,000. This might surprise some, given Warren Buffett’s past criticism of Trump’s business practices and recent tariff policies. Back in 1991, Buffett questioned Trump’s heavy reliance on debt in his real estate empire, and he has recently called Trump’s tariffs “a tax on goods.” Despite their differences, Trump apparently sees value in Berkshire’s diversified approach.

What this could mean for you

Trump’s investment choices reveal a clear preference for established technology leaders and companies with strong competitive moats. Seven of his eight holdings are massive, profitable businesses that dominate their respective industries.

This portfolio composition offers a valuable lesson: Building wealth does not require chasing the latest hot stock or complicated strategies. Sometimes the best approach involves owning pieces of great American businesses and holding them for the long term.

Of course, copying any investor’s portfolio wholesale is not advisable. Your investment decisions should reflect your own financial goals, risk tolerance, and time horizon. But examining how successful investors allocate their money can provide useful insights for shaping your own strategy.

Want to invest like a billionaire? You do not need billions to get started. You just need a brokerage account and a long-term perspective on quality companies that have proven their ability to generate returns over time.
