Walmart is the largest big-box store in the country. However, that doesn’t necessarily make it the favorite of American shoppers.

Instead, another such retailer is winning over more customers’ hearts, according to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Retail and Consumer Shipping Study 2025.

The ACSI survey elicited opinions on various types of retailers from roughly 41,000 customers.

Based on these survey findings, these are America’s favorite “hypermarkets,” which are stores that combine a department store and a supermarket under one roof.
