Some toddler snack bars have been recalled for a potentially fatal choking hazard after several consumer complaints, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

On Oct. 30, Once Upon a Farm issued a recall of all flavors of its Tractor Wheels soft-baked bars, which were sold at retailers including Walmart, Target and Costco, according to an FDA notice.

The FDA said it received several reports of toddlers between 1.5-2.5 years old whose airways were completely obstructed and were unable to breathe after consuming the product.

“We know that parents place their trust in us every time they buy one of our products. We fell short of that, and that is why we are taking these aggressive actions,” Once Upon a Farm said in a statement.

Which Toddler Snack Bars Were Recalled?

All Once Upon a Farm Tractor Wheels organic toddler soft-baked bars have been recalled.

The recall applies to all flavors, including the following:

Why Were the Snack Bars Recalled?

The snack bars were recalled after the FDA received multiple consumer reports about toddlers who choked on them.

According to the FDA, when the bars are chewed, they reportedly form a dry, sticky mass that may not be dislodged using standard choking interventions like back blows and the Heimlich maneuver.

The FDA said some choking incidents have required emergency response intervention and hospital observation.
