No matter how you like tacos — stuffed or wrapped, crunchy or soft — you can probably enjoy one, if not several, on the cheap this week.

Thursday is National Taco Day, and many taco-serving restaurant chains are observing the “holiday” by offering free or discounted tacos.

In most cases, you need to do little more than show up to score these freebies and deals. You might want to call ahead to confirm that locations in your area are participating in the offers, though.

1. Chronic Tacos Mexican Grill

Everyone gets one free taco from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday. Chronic Tacos will reveal a code word for this offer on its social media webpages on Wednesday, according to the chain’s website.

Note that fish, shrimp and steak tacos are excluded from this offer.

Chronic Tacos has locations in 10 states, primarily California.
