BMW Recalls Over 16K Motorcycles. See Affected Model

USA TODAY Network / Reuters

Nearly 17,000 BMW motorcycles are being recalled due to an issue related to the ignition lock, federal officials say.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the ignition lock in certain motorcycles may fail, causing “the instrument display, rear lighting, and other systems such as ABS to fail, or cause an engine stall while riding.”

The recall notice says the issue could raise the risk of a crash. Here’s what we know about the affected motorcycles and what owners should do.

Which Model Is Potentially Affected by the BMW Recall?
