After champagne bottles pop and a new year begins, many Americans might consider making a fresh start with a new car. In 2026, a new crop of vehicles will make their first appearance on dealership lots.
And for car shoppers who have real-world budgets, this year’s debut lineup offers genuine excitement without a huge sticker shock.
Here’s a look at all-new vehicles debuting in the new year that start under $50,000.
Kia K4 Hatchback
The Kia K4 Hatchback offers a turbo engine for those who want more power in their new ride. It’s also got a roomy interior — especially in the back, where it ranks among the best in its class for legroom. Up to 28 driver-assistance features are available, and 16 of these come standard.
This hatchback’s cost is expected to range from $25,000 for the LX trim to $31,000 for the GT-Line Turbo trim.
Subaru Uncharted
The Subaru Uncharted is an all-electric SUV with a sporty look arriving in spring 2026. You can snag it with front-wheel drive for max range (more than 300 miles) or upgrade to all-wheel drive for more power. It charges from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes and comes loaded with tech like a 14-inch touchscreen and wireless charging.
It’s estimated that the Uncharted will cost $34,000 to $38,000.
Subaru Trailseeker
The Trailseeker is Subaru’s new all-electric SUV. It packs 375 horsepower and can tow up to 3,500 pounds. The Trailseeker has all-wheel drive and comes with a 14-inch touchscreen, wireless phone charging and great safety tech.
It’s expected to start in the mid-$40,000s.
Honda Prelude
After a 25-year hiatus, the Honda Prelude is returning to the road — this time as a hybrid. It comes with a two-motor hybrid system and intuitive drive modes that boost control and responsiveness. Drivers also get Honda Sensing, a package of safety and assistance features that make driving both easier and safer.
The starting MSRP is $42,000.
