Monday Money Deals: Chocolate, Luggage, and Free Quiznos

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Did you know that Dr. King dreamed not only of equality, but also of saving money on chocolate, candles, and cashmere? OK, that’s not true – but in his famous “I Have a Dream” speech, he does metaphorically mention getting a check that has “come back marked insufficient funds.”

This week’s freebies include a free tire pressure check kit from Hanook Tire – signing up will also enter you into a raffle to win a set of tires – and free chips and soda at Quiznos when you buy any regular sub. The coupon’s good through Jan. 25, along with one for $5 off a delivery order.

While we’re talking about food, Godiva’s having a “Chocolate Covered Sale” with prices up to 60 percent off. That makes their prices almost reasonable, and what’s more delicious than fancy discounted chocolate?

Yankee Candle is having a semiannual clearance sale, getting rid mostly of its extra Christmas stock. Extra good news: The sale stacks with coupon code E8BD1UB for $10 off orders of $25 or more, and shipping is free on orders over $100, or otherwise $5. You can get two large candle jars for $15, and there are other deals at lower price points, including gift sets.

For the ladies, Amazon.com has cashmere sweaters and turtlenecks at 60 percent off.

For the guys, JCPenney has a lot of men’s dress shirts and ties on sale. Ties are as low as $7, shirts as cheap as $6. Use coupon code JCPCRBAN for an extra 15 percent off. Shipping is free to your local store, or $6 otherwise.

Planning a trip? Over at LuggageGuy.com you can knock 30 percent off the price tag with coupon code XCDR, which expires Jan. 21. All orders get free shipping.

If that trip is more of an outdoors adventure, Amazon.com can help with up to 70 percent off on a weird assortment of “sports and outdoors” products. This includes everything from bikes to exercise gear, and from sports equipment to fan stuff.

Inexplicably, Amazon.com would also apparently like to help you remodel your bathroom or kitchen, offering fixtures up to 50 percent off.

Lastly, the Staples weekly ad has some good $1 deals including envelopes, notepads, folders, white-out, Scotch tape, photo paper, storage bins and pens. Sharpies are buy one, get one free too.

That’s all for now – check back next week for more deals, and share your best in the comments.
